About

The Need to Know

After proudly serving my country in the United States Air Force for seven years, I held down a variety of jobs, but I’ve somehow always managed to incorporate writing into my responsibilities.

I did some freelance writing here and there, having both fiction and nonfiction published in print and online, and worked as a columnist for the Air Force Times newspaper for a brief period. My last corporate job was managing a mid-sized finance company’s communications department before taking the plunge and giving up the corner office to work from home full time.

I’ve been working independently, creating Web content since the fall of 2008. I was fortunate early on to land a full-time contract with an established Web site publishing company, which afforded me the opportunity to learn a lot about Internet marketing and SEO from experts in the field.

Now, as the Senior Content Manager for Outspoken Media, I work with a talented team of experts to offer a wide variety of services to clients such as SEO, link development, content creation, online reputation management, and many other aspects of Internet marketing.

While this occupies much of my time, I do still take on freelance clients from time to time, so don’t hesitate to contact me if you need expertly written content for your site, or you have existing content that needs to be optimized by someone who understands SEO best practices.

I continue to work toward increasing my knowledge and skills, keeping up with industry news and changes, building my portfolio, and establishing relationships with other Internet marketers and content producers.

The Nice to Know

While reading through the original Nancy Drew series when I was about seven, I started writing my own mystery stories. I’ve been writing ever since. Don’t worry, I’ve improved a lot since then.

I fell into Web writing quite by accident, but it quickly became apparent that I was good at it, and I enjoyed it, so I pursued it. The fact that I could work from home in my jammies was an added bonus.

Along with my awesome husband, I share my home with Murphy, the best dog ever, a sweet Siamese cat named Andromeda (Romy for short), and three crotchety cockatiels—Pixie, Ferdinand, and Isabella. All our pets are rescues, and they add a lot of joy and entertainment to our lives. I highly recommend adopting a pet if you can.

I’m a very lucky person who gets to do something I love for a living, and it comes through in my work. A happy writer plus a passion for writing equals excellent content. And isn’t that what you want for your site?
